Exothermic Robotics competed last weekend in the VEX Robotics World Championships in Anaheim, California and won several top awards. Team 10B won their division and were finalists, Team 10D was a finalist in their division and won the Build Award, and Team 575 won the Innovate Award. Additionally, Team 575 received first place in the Design A Game Online Challenge.
The winning Gladstone team at the VEX World Championship allied with other teams from California and New Zealand, while the other Gladstone teams allied with Exothermic 10B (Blaze). Each alliance went through the divisional playoffs, and then opposed each other at the final. While 10B lost in the finals, getting to the finals was already an amazing feat of hard work and perseverance!
Redmond High School hosted its annual VEX Robotics Tournament, and this year, the tournament drew a whopping 58 teams from around the area. Teams from Washington, Oregon, California, and even teams from Canada trekked over here to attend! Two of the Exothermic Robotics Teams won awards for the Build Award and Excellence Award as well! Overall, a great tournament turnout!
10D Imensional, comprised of RHS Students Sahana Cidambi, Hayden Wisman, Michael Koeppen, Kristian Koeppen, Matt Macris, and Robert Swan started on a mission last week to promote robotics around the community. They gave a presentation to the Redmond Police Department Community Advisory Board to try to get more of them to mentor robotics teams, and later, they gave another presentation to the seniors at Emerald Heights Retirement Community.
