Koeppen earns $1,000 in Nokomis Scholarship

Kristian Koeppen, a Redmond High School graduate, was the recipient of the $1,000 Nokomis Scholarship. The Nokomis Scholarship is presented to the person that excels in academics, is involved in the community, has work experience, and is involved in a variety of extracurricular activities. Koeppen fulfills all of these requirements, and has been a proud member of the Exothermic Robotics Club for several years. He is planning to attend Western Washington University in the fall with a major in kinesiology.

Cameron Wins the 2014 REC Foundation and Robomatter Scholarship

Cameron Akker, from Redmond, Washington, is the 2014 REC Foundation and Robomatter Scholarship recipient and will receive $5000. Cameron attended Redmond High School, and was a member of Exothermic Robotics Team 575. He will attend Harvard University this fall. We wish him luck for his future endeavors!

Exothermic Robotics Club Qualifies to World Championship

Exothermic teams 10D, 10Q, 10V, 10X, 10Z, and 575 all competed at the state competition against the top 33 robots in Washington. 10Q and 10Z finished as quarterfinalists, 10D, 575, and 10X finished as semifinalists, and 10V ended up being a finalist. 10Q won the Robot Skills and Programming Skills Award , 575 won the Build Award, and 10D won the Design Award, allowing each team to qualify for Worlds. 10D also won 2nd place for the Sustainable Design Challenge placed second in the world, winning $500 for Exothermic!
